This is the re-enactment of the infamous "Little Miss Muffet" first performed by Jenny and Kristi Floria in the early 70's. In the original, the younger sister was played by a baby, who actually crawled toward the little starlet, and the starlet sat on a little stool, and not a full-sized chair.
So while today's adaptation is not true to the original, one piece of the set is historically accurate: the bonnet being worn is the same used by the original players so far back in time.

Wow, there was a bonnet, too? I just remember Mom telling the story.
ReplyDeleteThe bonnet actually came later -- I think Grandma made one (or was it mom??) for you and I when we were in our Laura Ingalls Wilder phase, many years later. But still, the thing is over 30 years old!
ReplyDeleteBiggest difference I see from the original -- Jenny was not a willing participant in the drama so when Kristi screamed and ran from the "spider" it upset Jenny and made her cry too. But always fond memories.
