Anyone who knows my dad knows that he revels in and inspires to be a great storyteller. Which, for the most part, he is.
Here he is telling a little ditty about my Grandpa Tom, his former father-in-law. I'm glad I was able to capture my Grandma's reaction, too.
I used to date a girl from Minnesota. Hearing your parents "accents" took me back a ways. In a good kind of way.

ReplyDeleteI used to get mocked went I went back down to western IA. People loved to hear me say 'boat'.
ReplyDeleteOf course most of those idiots had a hardcore southern accent. And they lived in Iowa their entire lives.
Regional accents fascinate me, for reasons I can't even explain.
